If you are new to web site templates, this is the place to start reading. We
have put together a list of frequent questions as well as the basics of web
design products we offer. From billing to download related details, you need to
read this.
1) What is
a website template?
The first time you visit SlickTemplate you
might ask yourself, what exactly do we sell. Templates are pre-designed website
designs. When you buy one you get everything you need to create a complete
professional looking presence on the web.
Simply put all you need to do
is fill in the blacks. Graphics, layout, animation and css formatting are
already created for you.
2) Why is it smarter to choose a template rather than higher a web
design studio?
The number one major advantage is the price, it is
far more cost effective, usually costing only $40-$70 for a professionally
designed web site template rather than spending anywhere from $500-$10,000 or
more for a custom designed site by a web design studio.
Time and
convenience are among other important factors, our web sites are fully complete
and ready to go. You can purchase a template and be on your way editing in under
5 minutes. No waiting period.
3) What do I receive when I make a purchase?
You
will receive your product and all the project source files required for editing,
along with that you will also receive a font file library and a clipart library,
which are all included in a (.ZIP) file format archive.
If you are using
Windows XP you already have a compatible archive extractor built-in, if not you
may use WinRar or WinZip. Apple users
may use StuffIt a free application for extracting (.ZIP) files under
Mac OS.
4) What are the
file formats included with the purchase?
This differs from
product to product, but generally we include source files for Adobe Photoshop
(.PSD), Macromedia Fireworks (.PNG), Macromedia Flash (.FLA/.SWF) as well as
complete source codes in HTML and CSS formats, which are compatible with any HTML editor such as the preferred Macromedia Dreamweaver MX or
Microsoft FrontPage.
5) What is it the difference between the download price and the
buy out price?
The download price allows you to receive a copy of
the product. The buy out price lets you download the same product, but after
your purchase is complete, it is removed from our catalog ensuring it is no
longer visible to any future customers. This provides a higher level of privacy
and uniqueness usually preferred by business/corporate customers.
6) Can I resell the product if I buy
it out?
No you may not, all our products are sold under a single
license user agreement. Please read our User Agreement for more information on
distribution of our products.
7) Is there any refund or return policy?
Since we
sell non-tangible irrevocable goods we cannot offer any refunds once the product
has been downloaded by the customer. We encourage customers to try out the free sample downloads and to
fully preview a design before deciding to purchase it.
8) Is it possible to use products for
developing web sites for my clients?
Yes and in fact a high
number of our customers are web designers looking for a smart way to save time
and money. You may use our templates for your own web sites or for web sites
then sold to clients, but you can only use a product for one web site.
Our products are sold under a single license user agreement.
9) Do you provide tutorials on how to
edit templates?
Yes we do, and we encourage all customers to
visit and carefully read the detailed information knowledge
base we have put together. There you will find guides and lots of
information relating to customizing and installing your new web site
templates.
10) What if I
do not own any compatible software for editing templates?
Not to
worry, there is still hope. The basic tools required are only a HTML editor, or
even Notepad, since you are only changing text in a HTML file. But we have put
together a page containing more information on required
software and where to download trial versions or free alternatives. Both
Macromedia and Adobe provide fully functional limited time trial demos.
